Privacy Policy
LAST UPDATED SEPTEMBER 11, 2026
OUTCAST is a community-run DayZ network, not a company — this is a plain explanation of what we collect through the site and why, not a legal document written to protect a business.
1. What this covers
This policy covers outcast-survival.eu — the website, sign-in, forum, profile, Shop, and Donation page. It doesn’t cover Discord, Steam, or Stripe’s own checkout pages; those have their own privacy policies, and we don’t control what they collect.
2. What we collect
Account info: when you sign in with Steam, we receive your public Steam ID, your Steam display name, and your Steam avatar. We never see, receive, or store your Steam password — Steam handles the login itself.
Content you post: forum discussions, comments, replies, and any images you attach are stored and shown publicly on the site, tied to your account.
Payment & donation records: if you buy something in the Shop or make a donation, we store the Stripe Checkout Session ID, the amount and currency, what it was for, and whether it succeeded — tied to your account. We never see, receive, or store your card number, bank details, or other payment credentials.
Usage data: we use Vercel Analytics for anonymized, aggregate page-view stats. It doesn’t identify you individually.
Cookies & storage: a session cookie keeps you signed in. Your browser’s local storage remembers your language preference. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
3. How we use it
To run your account and show your username, avatar, and rank across the site. To display the posts and comments you write. To notify you in-site when someone replies to you. To keep the forum moderated and working properly. To grant VIP access or purchased items once a payment succeeds, and to show accurate donation totals like the Chernarus launch goal.
4. Where it’s stored
Account and content data is stored with Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage). The site itself is hosted on Vercel. Both are third-party infrastructure providers — we don’t run our own servers for this.
5. Payments, Stripe & donations
Shop purchases (VIP, Colored Clan Tag, Stats Reset) and donations on the Donation page are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. You enter your card or payment details directly into a Stripe-hosted checkout page — we never see, receive, or store your full card number, bank details, or other payment credentials.
We only receive and store confirmation of the payment: the Stripe Checkout Session ID, the amount and currency, what it was for (e.g. VIP, or a donation and which goal it counted toward), and whether it succeeded — linked to your account so we can grant access, apply purchased items, and keep donation totals accurate.
For the VIP subscription, Stripe also notifies us when it renews or is canceled, so your access reflects your actual subscription status.
Stripe’s handling of your payment details directly is governed by Stripe’s own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
6. Who we share it with
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it with advertisers. It only passes through the infrastructure providers above (Supabase, Vercel), Stripe for processing payments and donations, and Steam, which is required for the sign-in itself to work.
7. Your choices
You can delete your own posts and comments at any time from the forum. Full account deletion isn’t self-serve yet — message us on Discord and we’ll take care of it.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date below. Significant changes will be announced on Discord.
